AI divide will be more problematic than Digital Divide

AI is speeding up progress exponentially due to Scaling Laws, and more than half the people are not catching up to it. And what's more? This is only happening in 67% of the world, which has access to the internet.

More than 3 billion people may have never used the internet, let alone LLMs according to this percentage.

For the last 2-3 decades, digital divide led to fundamental differences in knowledge and opportunities. Yet, we haven't learnt the same mistakes we did there.  In schools, LLM models such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and others has been banned from the district, as they believe it is a form of "cheating" device. In workplaces, AI usage isn't being seen as enhanced performance, but rather non-original work. This slows down how the general population gap with those whom are integrating LLMs into their daily life. Think of it as natural bodybuilders and enhanced bodybuilders, but with the cost of enhancing being none.

Now, let's take a step back to the 33% of the world who doesn't have access to internet alone first. They would view o3 as a god. And I'm not joking. o3 from OpenAI aces AIME, CodeForce, and got a human-level ARC-AGI score. For them, o3 is an alien. This is much worse than Digital divide, where its the "manual access" to knowledge. But for this, its "unlimited reasoning knowledge and resources" from a entity, also known to most ancient civilizations as "god". As ridiculous as it may seems, those without access to internet will unfortunately be unfairly left behind in this new era.

I personally think, we should start AI initiatives in area without access to internets. This wouldn't completely solve the problem. However this would not give parts of the world with access to AI a manipulative edge on those who don't have access to it. The problem with human is that we don't like new "alien" things, but we love it when we are the only one that have it.
